Nachhaltigkeit virtuell lernen? Potentiale Neuer Medien für das Globale Lernen in der Hochschule

New media provide new opportunities for networking and exchange about issues of global development between learners from different countries. At the same time, such learning makes new demands on the organisation and design of academic teaching. This article describes and analyses experiences with international virtual seminars about issues of sustainable development which have been made at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg. It can be shown which particular potential virtual settings offer for Global Education, how virtual learning can facilitate the students' competence development and which - didactic and organisational - challenges are associated with virtual learning settings.
