Prof. Dr. Sigrid Bekmeier-Feuerhahn befasst sich mit Fragestellungen der strategischen Unternehmenskommunikation, insbesondere mit Fragen, die Führungskräfte bewegen und vor neue Herausforderungen stellen.

Die Forschungsschwerpunkte liegen im Bereich des Kommunikationsmanagements und reichen von Kommunikation im Wandel, Unternehmenswahrnehmung und Reputation, Markenbildung bis hin zu Fragen des Kommunikationsmanagements in Kulturbetrieben, die derzeit angesichts der aktuellen Dynamik in der Kulturlandschaft an besonderer Relevanz gewinnen. Grundlagen unserer Forschung ist eine interdisziplinär ausgerichtete Theoriebildung, die wirtschafts-, sozialkommunikations- und verhaltenswissenschaftliche Erkenntnisse wie auch interdisziplinäre Aspekte der Kulturwissenschaften einbezieht.

Im Bereich der Lehre ist der Lehrstuhl an zahlreichen Lehrprogrammen und Lehrveranstaltungen auf Bachelor-, Master- und Doktoranden-Ebene an der Leuphana Universität beteiligt. Darüber hinaus ist er am Forschungstransfer in die Praxis durch zahlreiche Theorie-Praxis-Konzeptionen beteiligt.
