This contribution deals with the development of (new) test tasks for the school subjects physical education and music. The study itself focuses on possible ef-fects of students linguistic abilities on the solution probability of these tasks. The impact of (written) language on physical education and music as practical subjects(focusing on movement and musical tasks) has hardly been subject to investigation so far. However, similar to other school subjects it seems im-portant to know if and how students -aside from oral communication-under-stand e.g. written assignments of taskswithin feedback charts in physical edu-cation or descriptions of musical arrangements. The multimodal test tasks contain a combination of image / video or sound and text in order to ensure the most authentic possible settings along curriculum valid subjects or fields of competence. The development of these tasks is criti-cally discussed here. In addition, development potential for future investiga-tions is shown.
