Buckling Analysis under Uncertainty

Authors

We present a new approach to buckling analysis of columns under parametric uncertainty. The approach is based on possibility theory, where the uncertain parameters are modeled by possibility distributions and an analytical approach is used to propagate the uncertainties through the computations. In order to quantify the risk of a column to buckle, the concept of possibility of buckling is introduced and discussed.
