Die Professur für Psychologie, insbesondere Entrepreneurship unter der Leitung von Prof. Dr. Michael M. Gielnik befasst sich mit psychologischen Erfolgsfaktoren im Gründungsprozess.

Michael M. Gielnik ist seit Februar 2014 Juniorprofessor für Personal, insbesondere Personalentwicklung an der Leuphana Universität Lüneburg. Er studierte Psychologie an der Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen und erhielt seinen Doktorgrad von der Leuphana Universität Lüneburg. Im Verlauf seiner akademischen Karriere absolvierte er Forschungsaufenthalte an der University of the Western Cape (Kapstadt, Südafrika) und war Visiting Fellow an der National University of Singapore Business School (Singapur).

Forschungsschwerpunkte

Der Forschungsschwerpunkt der Professur liegt auf dem Thema Entrepreneurshiptraining. In dem Zusammenhang wurden in der Abteilung verschiedene handlungsorientierte Trainings entwickelt, die vielfach in Regionen Afrikas, Südostasiens und Lateinamerika angewendet wurden. Die Forschungsprojekte zielen dabei auf ein besseres theoretisches Verständnis der Kurz- und Langzeiteffekte der durchgeführten Trainingsmaßnahmen ab. Methodisch kommen dabei vornehmlich randomisierte Kontrollgruppenexperimente (randomized controlled trials; RCT) zum Einsatz.

Im Bereich der Lehre bietet die Professur verschiedene Module auf Bachelor-, Master- und Doktorandenebene an. Die Professur ist Programmkoordinator des Masterstudiengangs International Joint Master in Research in Work and Organizational Psychology (IJRMWOP-Master).

Die Professur leitet außerdem das CENTER OF EVIDENCE-BASED ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT (CEED). 

Seine Forschungsinteressen sind Unternehmertum (Entrepreneurship), insbesondere handlungsorientierte Entrepreneurshiptrainings, der unternehmerische Prozess und nachhaltiges unternehmerisches Verhalten. Ein spezielles Interesse liegt dabei auf Unternehmertum in Entwicklungsländern. Er hat eine Vielzahl von Forschungs- und Praxisprojekten in verschiedenen Ländern in Afrika und Asien betreut und durchgeführt.
