In a systematic review the landscape of publications in General Studies is
analyzed. Analysis is structured in Jour steps: a depiction of sociodemographic
factors, a descriptive-statistical evaluation, an appraisal of
changes over time, and finally a group-wise comparison of some key criteria.
The review allows some insights in the relatively young area of research in
General Studies and helps to identify key questions, themes and research
approaches.
