Description

Das Forschungsprojekt „Hybrid Publishing“ beschäftigt sich mit den veränderten Bedingungen für wissenschaftlichen Austausch und Weiterbildung im digitalen Zeitalter. „Heutzutage tauschen sich Wissenschaftler nicht mehr ausschließlich in Forschungslaboren, Hörsälen und Fachzeitschriften aus, sondern immer intensiver auch digital auf Blogs, Listservern und in wissenschaftlichen Foren,“ beschreibt Prof. Dr. Martin Warnke die aktuelle Situation. Er leitet das neue Projekt gemeinsam mit seinem Kollegen Professor Dr. Timon Beyes. Statt über Buch und Zeitschrift werde zunehmend mittels E-Journals, E-Books oder Videos von Vorträgen und Symposien kommuniziert.

Damit ändern sich die Formate für die Veröffentlichung wissenschaftlicher Ergebnisse und die Vermittlung von Weiterbildungsangeboten. Das stellt das wissenschaftliche Verlagswesen vor neue Herausforderungen. Gemeinsam mit Verlegern und Softwareentwicklern wollen die Wissenschaftler neue Technologien für das so genannte digital publishing erforschen. Dabei wollen sie der Forderung nach einem freien Zugang zu Wissen, Wissenschaft und Forschung gerecht werden.
