The ability to present oneself confidently and convincingly in job interviews is crucial for career success, especially for graduates. This study examines the extent to which virtual reality (VR) as a training method can specifically improve social skills in job interviews. In an experimental design, participants were randomly assigned to either VR or chat-based training. The results show that VR training not only increases self-efficacy and reduces anxiety, but is also significantly more efficient than text-based alternative methods. In addition, the training effect remains stable over months. The study provides important insights into the effectiveness of VR and shows its potential for practical and motivating preparation for job interviews.
