 The research project was carried out together with an aerospace company as cooperation partner. The aim of the project was to determine the motivational situation and influencing factors of decision making at individual, job-specific and organizational levels for retirement planning and to identify the framework conditions that make it attractive for engineers to continue working in retirement. There are two surveys within the project. As part of a qualitative study, 26 interviews were conducted in spring 2011 with older employees, pensioners working as consultants and experts such as managers, company doctors, etc. The second survey was carried out at one of them between the end of 2011 and the beginning of 2012. Approximately 200 employees (mainly engineers) aged 50 and older took part in the survey.
