Organisationsprofil
Nachhaltigkeit hat viele Facetten. Inter- und transdisziplinäre Forschung und Lehre zeichnen die Fakultät Nachhaltigkeit aus. Die Wissenschaftler*innen in unseren Forschungsprojekten arbeiten gemeinsam im Labor, in der Heide, im Grasland, im Klassenzimmer, mit der Stadtverwaltung, mit Landwirt*innen, mit Nichtregierungsorganisationen, mit Unternehmen, mit Studierenden im Hörsaal und natürlich am Schreibtisch.
Darüber hinaus arbeiten wir mit regionalen und nationalen politischen Akteuren, z.B. Ministerien, sowie internationalen Organisationen, z.B. UNEP, UNESCO, EU, zusammen. Wir sind Teil von nationalen und internationalen Gremien z.B. Nachhaltigkeitsbeiräten von Unternehmen, Mitglied des deutschen Nachhaltigkeitspreises, Weltbiodiversitätsrat (IPBES), um mit wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnissen unseren Beitrag zum gesellschaftlichem Wandel zu leisten.
Themen
Als Träger der universitätsweiten Wissenschaftsinitiative Nachhaltigkeitsforschung fragt die Fakultät nach Bedingungen und Chancen einer nachhaltigen Entwicklung. Die Fakultät verbindet dazu Human- und Naturwissenschaften mit derzeit etwa 25 Professuren aus den Disziplinen Chemie, Informatik, Kommunikation, Management, Ökologie, Philosophie, Planung, Politik, Psychologie, Recht, Technik und VWL. Die transdisziplinären Arbeitsweisen in Forschung, Studium und Dienstleistungen zielen insbesondere darauf, zukünftige Entwicklungschancen für die Zivilgesellschaft des 21. Jahrhunderts zu schaffen und zu erhalten.
