The recent research attacked Carl-Heinrich von Stülpnagel as determined antisemite, but an examination of the references does not prove this conviction of the Resistance fighter. Only his petition to army group South of August 12th, 1941, seems to be problematic. But its differences between critics of Nazi-warfare and the demand for anti- Semitic propaganda suggest interpreting the regime-conform elements as camouflage. In consequence of that Stülpnagel was not guilty of anti-Semitism, but as a general of Hitler's army in a dictatorship making all collaborators to accomplices. But just his military function made his role in the Resistance of July 20th, 1944, possible.
