N2 - Language procedures should be learned connected with contents and competence oriented teaching needs an empirical base. Hence the interdisciplinary project TheKomB defined ex-pectations in early mathematical reasoning, developed a competence model and tested stu-dents’ abilities. To that end language forms in written answers of 243 primary-school students were described and classified.
