Strong variability of inventory levels as a result of the bullwhip effect constitutes a constant chal-lenge for the management of supply chains. Original and proactive approaches like subscriptions between the end consumer and the end consumer-closest supply chain member over recurrently bought functional goods (consumables) can help to reduce the aftershock of the bullwhip effect on supply chains.
