The salvage bonus (in Germany) influences the number of old passenger cars and therefore the demand for spare parts. Based on a Closed Loop Supply Chain model and using System Dynamics the quantitative effects of the salvage bonus on the spare part flows are calculated in an extensive simulation experiment. This article is focusing on the simulation method as an analyzing tool for managerial questions.
