Description

The Lüneburger Forum für Informatik an Schulen (LÜFINS) was founded in 2009 by the Leuphana University of Lüneburg and the regional grammar schools and vocational schools against the background of a declining demand for computer science-oriented study programs. LÜFINS wants to make a regional contribution to inspire students to study computer science in the long term. In regular meetings of the participating teachers and professors of computer science, LÜFINS:
- organizes workshops and competitions for students
- promotes regional networking of computer science activities at schools
- provides schools with information from computer science programs and about the careers in which graduates are employed
- supports the transfer of know-how and infrastructure between schools and between Leuphana University and schools (e.g., between the University of Leuphana and the schools)
Currently 22 schools from the district of Lüneburg and the neighboring districts in Lower Saxony, Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania are participating in LÜFINS. Other high schools and vocational schools in the region are also invited to participate.
