N2 - There is a widespread use for writing letters, including writing letters to friends orrelatives, the correspondence with authorities, writing complaints about orders orwriting job applications. Therefore, this article presents a retrospective critical re-view of studies related to this topic, trying to identify results that are still relevanttoday. Furthermore, we also shed light on studies using digital tools that makewriting instruction more effective.
