Michael Frese ist seit August 2009 Professor für Wirtschaftspychologie, insbesondere Entrepreneurship und Innovation, an der Leuphana Universität Lüneburg (Joint Appointment mit National University of Singapore, Business School.)
Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte liegen v.a. im Bereich der Innovations- und Entrepreneurshipforschung. Bekannt sind seine Längsschnittuntersuchungen zu psychischen Auswirkungen der Arbeitslosigkeit, zu Stresseffekten in der Arbeit, zur Eigeninitiative, zu psychischen Erfolgsfaktoren bei Kleinunternehmern und seine Feldstudien zur Fehlerkultur.
Professor Frese veröffentlichte bereits mehr als 200 Artikel und ist Autor von über 20 Büchern und Herausgaben. Er gehört zu den am häufigsten zitierten europäischen Autoren der Arbeits- und Organisationspsychologie. Er ist Field Editor des Journal of Business Venturing und ist in den Editorial Boards der wichtigsten wirtschaftspsychologischen Fachzeitschriften vertreten.
Themen
Prof. Frese’s research spans a wide range of basic and applied topics within organizational behavior and work psychology. Most important are his longitudinal studies on psychological effects of unemployment, impact of stress at work, predictors of personal initiative in East Germany, as well as psychological success factors of entrepreneurs. He is also known for his cross-national research on innovation. His field studies on errors, error management, and error management culture also have received wide attention.
