Organisationsprofil
Der Schwerpunkt unserer Arbeiten liegt auf partizipativen, kooperativen und netzwerkförmigen Kommunikations- und Entscheidungsprozessen im Nachhaltigkeitskontext. Problem-orientierte, inter- und transdisziplinäre Forschung untersucht Strukturen, Prozesse, Kontextbedingungen und Ergebnisse von Governance. Unsere Aktivitäten tragen zu aktuellen konzeptionellen Debatten bei und entwickeln neue Methoden empirischer Forschung mit einem Schwerpunkt auf Wissensintegration durch vergleichende und meta-analytische Methoden.
Themen
Die Professur für Nachhaltigkeit und Governance beschäftigt sich mit der Effektivität von Partizipation in umweltbezogenen Entscheidungsprozessen, Kollektivem Lernen und Soziale Netzwerkanalyse, Umwelt- und Nachhaltigkeitskonflikten (Mediation und Konsensbildung), Komplexitäts- und Unsicherheitsaspekten von Nachhaltigkeit, Umweltinformationen (Überwachung und Bewertung), Globale und Multi-Level Governance und institutionelle Skalierungsprozessen, Öffentlichen Diskurse und die Rolle der Medien, Transformation und Verfall sozial-ökologischer Systeme sowie Wasserressourcenmanagement, Küstenschutz und Küstenmanagement, Landnutzung und Nachnutzung von Altlasten.
