Model experiments such as those conducted by the Club of Rome and many other groups during the 1970s raised issues of global interdependencies and universal interactions between human, technological, and natural systems for the first time. However, due to the lack of dynamic data and limited knowledge about the nature of these interactions and interdependencies, global models implemented primarily the normative assumptions of the model builders into the models.
