N2 - Core Self‐Evaluations (CSE) as defined by Judge, Locke, Durham, and Kluger (1998) has been shown to be a valid predictor of different job‐related criteria in domestic settings (e.g., Judge & Bono 2001). Even though studies considered some constituent traits of CSE to be relevant for adjustment and job performance during international assignments, the higher order personality construct has mostly been neglected in the field of expatriate research. Within the iGOES project we examined the role of CSE for adjustment and performance in a sample of 500 German expatriates working across Europe and analyzed moderating influences of host‐country cultures.
