he intervention project “Fach-an-Sprache-an-Fach” is being presented. It aims at improving argumentative language skills in middle school students. We discuss the differences and the interaction between oral and written reasoning, focusing the question of how oral argumentation unfolds in written texts. Two text examples authored by participating students are being analyzed.
