Hermann Stutte (1909–1982) war seit 1954 erster Lehrstuhlinhaber für Kinder- und Jugendpsychiatrie und Leiter des Instituts für Ärztlich-Pädagogische Jugendhilfe in Marburg a. d. Lahn.Die Autoren möchten die vollständige wissenschaftliche Bibliografie Stuttes als »nachgereichtes Lehrbuch« verstanden wissen. Die Bibliografie umfasst einleitende Bemerkungen zu Leben und Werk, eine Zusammenstellung aller Veröffentlichungen, die Abstracts von 270 Beiträgen, ein Kapitel über Stuttes Habilitationsschrift sowie ein Nachwort. Deutlich wird, wie sich gesellschaftliche Anschauungen in der Kinder- und Jugendpsychiatrie widerspiegeln und wie eng ihre Entwicklung mit sozialen, geistigen und politischen Strömungen der Zeit verwoben ist.
