The standard employment relationship is eroding. Is this leading to a new kind of human resource management? Yes and No. No, because the fundamental economic processes remain the same in any form of employment relationship. Yes, because each form of employment relationship needs a different kind of human resource management. The functional requirements of the new forms of employment relationship are the same as for the traditional full time employment system, but the manner in which they can be met is different. In this article we analyse the situational peculiarities of two groups of workers: the so called (dependent) self employed and workers with a temporary employment agency contract.
