Aphaenopidius kamnikensisDrovenik, 1987 from Kärnten. – In the superficial under-ground compartment (=„Milieu Souterrain Superficiel“ after Juberthie) of Vellacher Kotschna (Ca-rinthia), Aphaenopidius kamnikensis Drovenik 1987 is recorded from Austria. This is the first record of this species from Austria. With a body length of up to 9.8 mm A. kamnikensis is the largest blind trechine ground beetle ever recorded from this subterranean type of habitat
