diZi-FTS - Development of a digital twin for the virtual commissioning of an FTS

Project: Transfer (R&D project)

Project participants

Description

The introduction and commissioning of a driverless transport system (AGV) in a company requires good organization of production and logistics and a high degree of digitization culture. In order to create ideal conditions and identify potential stumbling blocks as early as possible, EK AUTOMATION and the Leuphana University of Lüneburg have been conducting research in a cooperative project since the beginning of the year. The aim of the joint research project is to develop a digital AGV double-decker. Within a simulation, the virtual AGV twin is to run through all production and logistics processes of the real vehicle in the virtual customer environment even before the actual start of operation, and to identify possible challenges. This includes automatic collision detection and avoidance as well as the complete simulation of all load cycles. This is intended to make system integration even more effective and to identify further potential for optimization. The project is supported by the European Fund for Regional Development.
