Im Rahmen des Projekts wird ein Detektorsystems für das X- Ray Bragg Spektrometer aufgebaut und optimiert. Ziel ist die Orts- und Zeitauflösung für ultra low level Messungen so weit zu erhöhen, dass eindeutige Daten auch bei sehr geringe Intensität zuverlässig gewonnen werden könne. Nach der Optimierung der Hardware werden Konzepte und digitale Werkzeuge zur Optimierung des Signal/Rausch – Verhältnisses entwickelt. Kompensationen von Nebeneffekten (Streuung) mittels Software werden erforscht. Eine Software zur Kalibrierung des neuen Detektorsystems wird entwickelt und getestet, die eine Standardisierung der Prozedur ermöglichen wird. Konzepte und Software zur Verbesserung der Signal- und Datenqualität bei 2D Spektren werden entwickelt, erprobt und eingesetzt. Methoden und Werkzeuge zur online Darstellung der Ergebnisse werden entwickelt.
Die hier vorgeschlagenen technischen Entwicklungen werden signifikant zur erfolgreichen Verwirklichung der geplanten Experimente bei FAIR beitragen. Dadurch werden die wissenschaftliche Ziele zur Untersuchung von relativistische und quantenelektrodynamische (QED) Effekte an Ionen mit nur einem oder wenigen Elektronen und den höchsten Kernladungszahlen ermöglicht.
