The overarching goal of the network is to discuss the conditions and perspectives for Artistic Music Research as a research discipline within the German-speaking research landscape and to shape them in a solution-oriented manner. The focus is on a) the knowledge and research concepts of Artistic Music Research, b) the potentials for scientific music research and c) development prospects and challenges for Artistic Music Research as well as for music education at colleges and universities. The methods, quality criteria and mediation of successful artistic music research as well as the potentials, problems and challenges for scientific music research are to be considered in equal measure. Fundamental questions for an interdisciplinary cooperation between artistic and scientific music research and the integration into university contexts will be discussed and accompanied by the development of solutions.
