Im Herbst 2014 wurden Prof. Dr. Torben Schmidt und PD Dr. Maria Moss (Leuphana Universität Lüneburg) als Co-Herausgeber (zusammen mit dem Department of English and American Studies der Universität Stuttgart) des American Studies Journal (zuvor Universität Halle) benannt – neben den weiteren bisherigen Herausgebern Prof. Dr. Hans-Jürgen Grabbe und Dr. Martina Kohl.
Das Journal, welches online weltweit ca. 10.000 Leserinnen und Leser erreicht, soll mit wissenschaftlichen Artikeln und dem im Rahmen der innerhalb der ersten, 10-monatigen Förderperiode (Dez. 2013-September 2014) von der Leuphana Universität neu entwickelten American Studies Blog sowohl die traditionelle Leserschaft der universitären Nordamerika-Zentren erhalten als auch ein jüngeres Publikum (von Oberstufenschülern bis hin zu Studierenden) erschließen. Das Förderprojekt umfasst die Weiterentwicklung und inhaltliche Gestaltung des American Studies Journals sowie des American Studies Blogs für den Zeitraum 1.12.2015-30.11.2016.
