Justice, Democracy and Future Generations

Activity: Talk or presentationConference PresentationsResearch

Michael Rose - Speaker

The presentation first discusses Michael Kates' article on "Justice, democracy and future generations" (2015) and then presents own empirical research on the conditions of the formation of institutions for future generations, contradicting Michael Kates' "bootstrap objection" according to which democratic presentism would hinder the formation of institutions for future generations that could possibly mitigate this very democratic presentism (problem of political feasibility of reforms).
