In this presentation we would like to share the results obtained from using a learning journal in our SSP courses as a reflective tool to facilitate and assess learning processes. When we asked our students to write their journal, we pursued two main goals: to develop their critical thinking and questioning attitude and to guarantee a better teaching quality. The journals provided us with detailed information about what our students learned within the course and how their learning process was. Moreover, they allowed us to evaluate from their perspective whether the goals set at the beginning of the course were really achieved.
