In this chapter, we investigate how the family roles (mother and daughter) of the managers of a coworking space in a residential area in Hamburg, shape their enterprise. Starting from recent entrepreneurship-as-practice research, we build on Andreas Reckwitz' theory of social practices. We use our ethnographic fieldwork in a newly founded coworking space in Hamburg, run by mother and daughter, to identify the practices that help maintain and develop the coworking space. In so doing, we show how these practices show the entanglement of the realm of family and the realm of entrepreneurship. We furthermore build on the call of several practice theorists to understand practices as affective offers tools, to investigate how practices can contribute to building and maintaining family, as well as to the building and maintaining the enterprise.
