The large European expatriate body is under‐represented in present studies, typically including US‐American expatriates working in Asia. Likewise, the Big Five, being well‐explored in domestic settings are understudied in expatriate settings. Big Five personality data from the iGOES project covering 550 expatriates and seven European countries is presented. Mean level differences of personality scores were computed. The predictive validity of the Big five for expatriate job performance and adjustment was analyzed. Analyzes suggest some variance in personality scores and effect sizes after statistical artifacts have been taken into account. Hence, analyses were conducted testing the moderating effect of culture.
