Feedback control method for regulation of a control variable in which a measurement signal is measured that is proportional to the variable and the signal is then used by an evaluation unit to adjust an actuator value that varies the control variable. At least the measurement, actuator or an intermediate signal is filtered using a narrow band filter. The filter is adapted using a wavelet transformation that shifts the frequency range of the filter dependent on the measurement signal properties. The invention also relates to a corresponding control device.
