N2 - Spatial patterns of dragonfly-communities in different natural geographical territories of the "Herzogtum Lauenburg"-district (Schleswig-Holstein, Northern Germany). The dragonfly-fauna of the "Herzogtum Lauenburg"-district has been investigated from 1978 - 1994. Most of the recorded 45 species showed clustered patterns of spatial distribution in accordance with variant habitat-supplies in different natural geographical territories. In addition, the climate plays a decisive role mainly for mediterranean species, most of which are thermophilic. Consequently, they may serve as perfect short-distance indicators for climatic differences, especially when they reach the edge of their biogeographical breeding range.
