Model based logistic monitoring for supply and assembly processes

Since a large proportion of disruptions in assembly processes are caused by insufficient logistics, logistics strongly impact the economically significant assembly areas in numerous industrial enterprises. Besides various planning tools there are no sufficient models for describing the logistic behavior of an assembly system. A model based description of the logistic operations in an assembly process is a fundamental prerequisite for making the prevailing complexity controllable. This article presents an approach for modeling logistic processes in assembly areas, which is intended to support the economical organization and logistic controlling of assembly processes.
