The circular economy is an increasingly important topic in today's business world as companies strive to become more sustainable and reduce their environmental impact. A circular supply chain involves closed-loop and open-loop systems that eliminate waste and pollution by designing products and processes with 9R imperatives in mind. Another benefit of the circular economy is the preservation of resources. By reusing and recycling materials, companies can reduce their reliance on virgin materials, which are often scarce and costly. This can lead to more stable supply chains and reduced risk of supply chain disruptions due to resource scarcity. A circular supply chain management can also improve a company's reputation and brand image. As consumers become increasingly environmentally conscious, companies that demonstrate a commitment to sustainability are likely to be viewed more favourably. In addition, circular supply chain management can lead to new business opportunities, such as developing new products and services designed for circularity. Finally, the circular economy can contribute to a more sustainable and prosperous future for everyone. In this contribution, we would discuss a concept for a community for the region of Lüneburg to support a local circular economy covering different industries. This community should cover the following subjects: • Community Building: A platform that fosters community engagement and collaboration, bringing together businesses, organisations, and individuals to share knowledge, resources, and best practices to promote a local circular economy. This can include forums, events, and networking opportunities. • Education and Training: A section of the platform dedicated to providing education and training on circular economy principles, sustainable business practices, and resource efficiency. • Resource Exchange Platform: A platform that connects local businesses and individuals to exchange resources, such as raw materials, products, and equipment, to reduce waste and increase resource efficiency. • Toolbox for Local Industry: A section of the platform focusing on circular supply chain management, providing businesses with tools and resources to design closed-loop and open-loop systems that reduce waste and maximise the use of resources.
