Description
Taking account of sustainability along the value chain is an important topic for companies today. In addition to optimising economic objectives, so-called sustainable supply chain management (SSCM) aims at managing ecological and social aspects along the value chain and in the supplier network of a company. The project involves surveying MDAX and DAX companies, investigating the state of practice in German companies and analysing the opportunities for developing a sustainability-oriented procurement system.
The data of the study are based on a questionnaire-based company survey in autumn/winter 2008/09. The project was funded by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety.
