Unter dem Titel "Arbeitsfähigkeit für Führungskräfte erhalten" hat der Lehrstuhl von Professor Jürgen Deller vom Institut für Strategisches Personalmanagement der Leuphana Universität Lüneburg im Herbst 2013 mehr als 1.000 VAA-Mitglieder befragt. Gegenstand des umfangreichen wissenschaftlichen Fragebogens zur Feststellung der Arbeitsfähigkeit waren unter anderem Aspekte der Arbeitszufriedenheit und der eigenen Vorstellung von der Rente.
