Symposium: Fostering Feedback in Preservice Teacher Education

Feedback is considered one of the most influential factors promoting learning. Consequently an increasing amount of research has focused on how feedback can be fostered in preservice teacher education. This symposium will present research findings on how effective feedback can be implemented and achieved at a macro- and micro-level in preservice teacher education. Studies on feedback for entire degree programs, individual university courses, and classroom teaching will provide in-depth insights into contemporary feedback practices, challenges and future perspectives. Results indicate feedback literacy needs to be fostered in higher education to a larger extent to make use of the full effect of feedback.
