N2 - This review presents recent trends in green and sustainable chemistry and their applicability for textile waste valorization. It also provides a comprehensive global perspective of the linear textile economy and investigates its possible transformation into a new circular textiles economy. Furthermore, bioconversions in a textile waste biorefinery to produce glucose syrup and polyester as examples of high value–added products are presented to showcase the realisation of circular textiles ambitions.
