N2 - In enterprises, information technology (IT) is considered an important cost factor and its availability is crucial for many business processes. Recently, many companies strived to increase the speed of IT delivery, e. g. through establishing a bimodal or fast IT. While information systems research often refers to the speed of enterprise IT, it so far lacks a clear understanding of this concept. This paper describes a systematic literature review (SLR) for consolidating knowledge about the speed of enterprise IT and summarizes existing research. A structured literature search identified 18 publications that directly or indirectly influence the speed of enterprise IT. We categorized and summarized the influences as described in the publication. Analysis of these influences reveals a wide variety of impacts on the concept of speed in enterprise IT. We argue that SLR should attempt to develop an initial understanding and conceptualization of speed in the context of enterprise IT.
