N2 - This explorative study examines how local and refugee entrepreneurs team up on social entrepreneurial initiatives and combine their strengths and resources to construct, evaluate and pursue new opportunities. We interviewed social venture teams including both groups in a social entrepreneurship accelerator in Germany. The findings suggest that such mixed social venture teams can overcome the liabilities of the foreignness of entrepreneurial refugee individuals while gaining legitimacy in both host societies and the refugee community.
