This article presents a comprehensive case study on the development and implementation of a control model for a beam actuated by a brushless motor. The primary objective is to establish a precise and stable control system for maintaining the beam’s position at a specific angle. The methodology involves data collection from the system, controller selection, and an adaptive approach utilizing Proportional, Integral and Derivative (PID) controllers to address system non-linearities across diverse setpoints. The results demonstrate the success of the project, indicating satisfactory performance in achieving precise control of the beam’s position. This study contributes valuable insights to the field of control systems applied to mechanical structures driven by brushless motors.
