Sudoko mathematics for and done by younger students

At present Sudoku is a very popular puzzle which is interesting also from the mathematical point of view. But is it usable for working mathematically with younger students? In this article an attempt is reported to develop and test a teaching material especially suitable for fostering mathematically gifted or at least high-achieving younger students.
