As a tourism resource, cultural heritage is placed in various contexts. These contexts result in varying perceptions of reality for the tourist. With the aid of reality terms set forth started by Blumenberg (2001), this chapter shows, for the cultural heritage of the Berlin Wall and its remnants, how different approaches to reality and also different experiences of authenticity can lead to the new mapping of cultural heritage and furthermore to a permanent actualisation of inheritance for the use of future generations.
