The article explores the thesis of ubiquitous nostalgia and discusses the
phenomenon on the basis of the inauguration speeches of Donald Trump in 2017
and Joe Biden in 2022. Starting from a distinction of nostalgic political addresses,
reflections on the political and social ambivalence of nostalgia are made. Finally, it is
important to place this feeling in the context of the experience of a present marked by
crises.
