The emotions of employees are significant for the success of organizations. Therefore, leaders have the task to recognize not only their own emotions but also the emotions that occur in the leadership process of their employees, to understand their origin and to manage and guide them into productive channels. The chapter presents fundamentals for understanding emotions and their regulation, discusses possibilities of influence by leaders, and derives starting points for concrete action. Finally, instruments are presented that can support leaders in the practice of emotion management.
