Description

In dialogue with a range of theorists, artists and writers the main question this seminar poses is: What can we learn from non-normative bodies and their experiences in cities of our contemporary world? 'Queer Cities: Cruising, Spaces and Encounters' plans to combine artistic practice, fiction writing and theory that deal with questions of sexuality, urban realities and the different use spaces in a city can have by different communities. "Cruising" is commonly known as a wandering sexual practice almost exclusively done by gay men. How can a cruising practice have different shapes when performed by other bodies? How can spontaneous encounters – beyond the ones driven pra sexual stimulation – serve also as means of knowledge production?
