Description

Sacha Kagan, IKKK associate researcher, initiated and is the Director of the International Summer School of Arts and Sciences for Sustainability in Social Transformation (ASSiST), which is realized as a collaboration between the International Network Cultura21, Cultura21 Nordic, Germany's Cultura21 Institut e.V., the International Council for Cultural Centers (I3C) and the Latin American Network of Art for Social Transformation. Further partners are the Center for the Study of Culture and Society (CSCS), based in Bangalore (India) and KHOJ International Artists' Association, based in Delhi (India).

The first staging of ASSiST, in August 2010 in Gabrovo (Bulgaria), focused on the theme "Walking and places: Building transformations", exploring walking-based methodologies for transdisciplinary action research.
The first edition of ASSiST was supported by the Asia Europe Foundation (ASEF) and the municipality of Gabrovo (Bulgaria).
