Description
The research project ‘Crowdfunding of environmental innovations’ starts in March 2019. It analyses how start-ups and SME can finance environmental innovations using crowdfunding and how they can address potential crowd-investors. Therefore, one important aim of the research project is to identify target groups of environmentally-oriented crowdfunding campaigns, in order to assess the potential of crowdfunding for environmental innovations more thoroughly. Secondly, the project aims at identifying success factors that support financing environmental innovations by crowdfunding. Thirdly, the created knowledge is disseminated to SMEs, start-ups, associations of enterprises and crowdfunding platforms to initiate the application of the insights gained. The research project is funded by the German Federal Environmental Foundation (DBU - Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt) and runs until September 2021.
